Kaplan University Online Nursing Programs Granted Accreditation by Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education

Master of Nursing receives programmatic accreditation for the first time

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Kaplan University, a leader in higher education innovation, today announced that the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has granted initial programmatic accreditation to its online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and re-accreditation for the online Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

The MSN accreditation is for five years, which is the maximum length of time for a program’s initial accreditation, and the BSN re-accreditation extends for 10 years, which is the maximum period for which CCNE grants accreditation.

“The accreditation of our MSN and BSN programs reflects the CCNE’s confidence in our ability to meet the rigorous standards that they have set for nursing education,” said Sheila Burke, RN, MBA, MSN, dean of the School of Nursing. “It also confirms for students, alumni, employers and those in the healthcare profession the quality of Kaplan University’s nursing degree programs.”

The CCNE is an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education that ensures the quality and integrity of bachelor- and graduate-level nursing education programs.
